Mexico at the Olympic Games


Mexico at the Olympics has been represented by the 

Mexican Olympic Committe. Mexico was the first latin 

american country to host the Olympics.

Mexico's first participarion was in the Paris Olympic Games in 

1900, with memebers of North American polo team, but until

the Paris Olympics in 1924, Mexico sent a Olympic 

delegation represented by a Olympic Committe, since then, 

has participated in 21 editions and has won 62 medals.

Sport in which mexicans have excelled is in diving, with 13

medals, one gold, six silver and six bronze. Then is boxing, 

which has won 12 medals, two gold, five silver and two 

bronze. And in third place is athletics, with 10 medals, three 

gold, five silver and two bronze.

And the sports that have won less medals are wrestling with

one silver medal, basketball, with one bronze, and most

recently, the gold medal in soccer. But the Olympic Games in

which Mexico has won more medals, were those of 1968, 

where it participed as host country.
